Peridot... My Birthstone

It's August my birth month and honestly I'm so excited waiting for my birthday because I'm getting younger and fresher again...(let's be positive..haha!) anyway I'm excited and thankful because another year of my life awaits me after my birthday on the 22nd and every day and years of my life is a blessings so I should give thanks to Our Lord and share my blessing to others including my giveaway weee...and goodluck! to all who joined.

Now, since it's my birth month and like any other month we have this Birthstone assigned to each month as symbols of something traditional, mythical, folklore, et al. As of my birthstone "Peridot" the origin name is uncertain some says it's from arabic and greek word "Faridat" means "gem" and pronounced as ( pear-a-doe) sometimes referred as " Evening Emerald" because artificial light it glows as a brilliant green. Peridot legends state that the gem was considered as a powerful amulet against all evils hmmm...that's interesting! I guess that's the reason I don't see such paranormal thing hmmm???another thing Peridot somehow believes to be a remedy for sinus, lymph, lungs, breast problems and lessen the thirst to someone who has a fever just placed it under the tongue wow! it has a healing properties associated but really the history, myths, legends and folklore surrounding its magical properties have been handed down through civilization up to now. But for me wearing and having this birthstone (peridot) is my personal choice and like, any beliefs and myths associated with it is not what I'm after, I just love the fresh green color of it.
